An appreciation of space… in not much space

Here are some of the finished ACEOs I previewed earlier this week. Initially, I wasn't sure if the tiny format (three-and-a-half by 2-and-a-half inches) would grant me enough room, but I'm reasonably pleased with this series, and its definitely worth doing again sometime in the future. I practically had three-on-the-go at once whilst the paint was drying. The other five works can be viewed here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/paul_bailey_artist/

  1. These work really well Paul. They look like small photos of BIG paintings! I used to make ACEO's and dabbled in painted ones as well as textile ones. I just don't have enough time now. They sold well on Etsy though.

    1. Hi Aileen. It was the intention to try to squeeze the scope of a large painting into the restricted space of an ACEO, so I'm glad you've picked up on that!

  2. Love these, especially Cloud Shadows. I wouldn't have guessed they were ACEO size if you hadn't said :)

    1. Hi Chloe. Thanks for that. I guess, if I worked on a huge piece with a four-inch brush the effect would be the same!
